Works of art by over 60 established and emerging artists are available for sale during a benefit art auction on Saturday, June 16 @ 3-7 PM at Plaza de la Raza, 3540 N. Mission Rd., Los Angeles 90031. Proceeds from artwork sales benefit the 42-year-old nonprofit, which provides affordable and free after-school arts programs in East Los Angeles. Art donated for sale during the 2012 Plaza Art Auction includes paintings, drawings, pastels, prints, ceramics, mixed media, and photography. Co-chaired by Frank Romero, Patrick Ela, and Nilza Serrano, the 2012 Plaza Art Auction is supported by Jarritos, Beck’s Beer, San Antonio Winery, and Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles.

Plaza de la Raza is the only multidisciplinary cultural arts and educational center dedicating to serving the communities of East Los Angeles. Founded in 1970 by prominent labor, business and civic leaders as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, it provides affordable after-school programs in arts education to nearly 25,000 children and youth each year. In addition, Plaza presents more than 500 classes annually (beginning to advanced) taught by local artists and performers in theater, dance, music and the visual arts. It also presents high-quality cultural programming to the community free of charge.
