We cordially invite you to Plaza de la Raza and Frank Romero Studio's Annual Holiday Art Sale and Auction at Plaza de la Raza Boathouse Gallery on Saturday, Dec 7th from 6pm-10pm & Sunday, Dec 8th from 1-6pm. Frank Romero has always considered this event to be a space where the community can meet the artist, have a conversation and develop a relationship, which is something you can not do in a commercial gallery setting.

The Blue Hour Film Series

The Blue Hour is a documentary film and discussion series that will take place from February through April 2020 at Plaza de la Raza’s Margo Albert Theatre in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles. Project Director is local filmmaker Claudia Mercado. The monthly film screenings featured in this program will provide a communal space to see compelling, award-winning documentaries that will examine the theme of immigration ranging from local to global perspectives. Films will be followed by moderated discussions that will include filmmakers, professionals in the field of immigration work, and the individuals featured in these films.

Plaza de la Raza hosts Sergio Ochoa’s fast paced one-man show El Cuidador (The Caregiver) is both a personal memoir and a tribute to his glamorous mother. Both tender and hilarious, Sergio Ochoa reminisces about his childhood as the son of famed Mexican comedic actress Leonorilda Ochoa, her remarkable life, and the challenges of juggling his career with his role as his mother’s caretaker, following her diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
