In solidarity…
As always, Plaza de la Raza stands firmly with our immigrant community, no matter the status of citizenship, as we endure these challenging times. Together we resist the injustice that is happening to hard-working people and families. We uphold the rights of immigrants to live their lives and provide for their families without fear of illegal disappearance and deportation.
We have compassion for children who have been separated from parents, anyone who has lost loved ones, and we will remain a resource for all in need. We also assure our students, families and patrons that we will continue to provide a safe supportive gathering space for ongoing arts instruction and public programming to the best of our abilities.
We affirm our solidarity with our community in speaking out lawfully against the federal government's overstepping of its authority. The raids and militarization of our streets sow division and increases the danger to all of us. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters and say enough is enough. ¡Ya Basta!
Let us protest peacefully and commit to changing a political climate that thrives on division, fear and hate. Let us put in the work to heal this city and nation.
¡La lucha sigue! The struggle goes on!
In Solidarity,
